Technology
We at Lake Manassas Dental are dedicated to using the most advanced dental technology as well as the latest treatment techniques.
E4D CAD/CAM System
The E4D CAD/CAM technology system is a state-of-the-art digital scanner, design center, and milling system for imaging and delivering restorations. This system provides us with the capability of fabricating and delivering high-quality and beautiful crowns, veneers, inlays and onlays, enabling the patient to receive it the same day.
Traditionally, a patient would need 2 full appointments to restore a tooth. The E4D system enables us to scan your tooth, virtually design the final restoration, and mill your restoration in one day. This eliminates the need to wear a temporary restoration for weeks and have to return for another appointment.
A digital image is taken of the prepared tooth, the image is scanned and sent to a computer where we design it and then sent to the milling unit.
Digital X-Rays
Digital x-rays are becoming increasingly popular and are being adopted by the dental industry. They provide advanced images designed to save time, provide clearer dental photos, and exposed patients to less radiation than traditional x-ray technology. Our imaging program allows us to take a very close look at the teeth and the surrounding tooth structure with amazing clarity and accuracy.
Panorex X-Ray
A panorex x-ray machine takes a two-dimensional x-ray which allows us the ability to see the both the upper and lower jaw structure, as well as the teeth. This allows us to see any potential problems and viewing specific structural problems. We regularly use a panorex x-rays for orthodontic assessments, diagnosis of wisdom teeth impaction, diagnosis of advanced periodontal disease, assessment of the jaw joint, as well as for detecting signs of oral cancer.
Intraoral Camera
While X-rays provide valuable information, they do not give a complete view of everything that is going on inside your mouth. An intraoral camera is another great diagnostic tool that we utilize. It is a small video camera that takes real-time pictures which allows us to see every aspect of your teeth and mouth uncovering cracked teeth, plaque deposits, cavities next to fillings, and excessive wear. This tool will help you become more informed about your dental health and gives you a clearer understanding of your teeth’s condition.
Oral Cancer Screening
We not only take your dental health in consideration but your overall wellness as well which is why we will perform an oral cancer screening at your routine dental visit. Our goal is to identify signs of cancer or precancerous conditions in your mouth early on when there is a greater chance of cure.
